Bruce and Lisa Corker, owners of Rancho Aloha, have won first place at the 2005 Gevalia Kona Coffee Cupping Competition.

The event injects the element of suspense into the annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, which has now been held for 35 years.

Rancho Aloha grows on four acres in Holualoa at the 1,400-foot elevation. Rancho Aloha is certified organic by the Hawaii Organic Farmers Association and has been in operation for four years. This was its third year entering.

Second place went to Long Mountain Kona of Honaunau, owned by Lewis and Kim Johnson. Third place went to Aikane Kona Coffee of Holualoa, owned by Dr. Alan Wang.
