Fair Trade Coffee - Tully’s Coffee and UW Fair Trade Coffee Coalition Announce Development of Expresso Blend

Tully’s Coffee has begun research on the development of its first ever Fair Trade Certified espresso blend in partnership with the Fair Trade Coffee Coalition at the University of Washington (FTCC) and the University of Washington’s Department of Housing and Food Services (HFS). Tully’s is the sole coffee provider to HFS, which operates 20 retail coffee outlets on the University’s Seattle campus.
This announcement was celebrated on the UW campus on Monday, February 6, with a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. The ceremony, which was organized by the Fair Trade Coffee Coalition and performed by the African Student Association – an FTCC member group – took place on the lawn in front of the Husky Union Building (HUB) and was repeated several times between 11 AM and 2 PM.
