Bicerin - Hot Chocolate Coffee a Winner in Turin

If Turin has an official beverage, it's this: a layer of molten chocolate, a layer of hot espresso and a layer of cream.
It's called the Bicerin ("bichereen") and locals have been drinking it for two centuries. Bicerin means little glass.
On its website, the Caffè Al Bicerin in Turin says it invented the beverage and "jealously guards" the secret recipe. The café opened in 1763.
Here's a reasonable facsimile we created, to sip while watching the chilly Winter Olympics.
